Wednesday. April 1st. Out of house by 10 am for a walk.
This church was converted to something — I’ve never been able to determine if it’s a home or special events place.

Gorgeous day! Tender new green-ness everywhere.
Not-so-great thoughts tried to sneak in. I have everything I need and then some. But still.
Oops. I didn’t get out for walk today. I got close once, but it was drizzly and then I got distracted.
I am trying the tiny habit approach — on my list today was ONE sun salutation. Check.
Still have holiday lights up outside and planning to keep up indefinitely.
I will never have the excuse “I didn’t have the time to ...” There was a little bit of light left to the day before I got outside for tiny walk. Light rain off and on all day, which is something we need.
Back to basics: control the things I can . . . but I finally made oatmeal raisin cookies and didn’t control how many I ate. I am counting them as dinner.

I didn’t take any photos today. This is from hike last week. Which feels like a very long time ago.
I did some things I didn’t want to do today. About time. AND brought back anything soft from Berkeley. Pillows, blankets, rugs, and artwork. Wasn’t that long ago I moved things from Calistoga to Berkeley due to the fires. Life.

Tuesday. Up and down. The Tim Ferris podcast interview with Jack Kornfield REALLY helped.
This was the first time I had a hardware store copy a paint. Benjamin Moore has all the recipes for Farrow + Ball. They are closed and 3 x the price. I wanted something a bit darker. Oh well. Of course it’s trivial compared to what’s going on. Unreal that our lives have changed in a blink of an eye. Unreal.

A wild thing just happened.
And I couldn’t get any distance to take photo of my new closet set-up. But this is a close up of my Lady McElroy collection (thank you @stonemountainfabric) —most of the fabric came from my time there except the Fox — I might have been a touch of obsessed.
As I was sitting on my couch tonight I heard something run across the porch — I didn’t know if the kitty was outside and a cat fight was about to begin.
Then I turned on the porch light and threw the door open. There was a fox stopped at bottom step, and it hissed at me. I went back inside 😳. Kitty was outside, hiding. Kitty (Freddie) not going outside again!
TGIF. Not. I cannot wait for Monday to be the new Friday, in the new world.
I impulse bought two strands of Easter egg lights at the hardware store.
Maybe I will get to bed early—I am ready for this day to be over. I am looking forward to March 21st, Saturday (or not).

I passed up Barbra’s cheese puffs at the grocery store but got a sour baguette to make croutons instead. Okay, I also got a bag of Tate’s cookies, Chocolate Choc Chip — I have never tasted the brand — but heard a great interview with Tate’s founder on How I Built This.
Main structure up on closet #1 — wow, there is barely a tolerance with the uprights to get the top piece on. Elfa is so well designed and built to last — I still have finish work to do on this whole situation. But progress.

The day before the shutdown, I picked up beautiful produce and these flowers from @coyotefamilyfarm.
I finished priming and painting the closets. Leftover Farrow + Ball primer foe warm/midtones. Not sure what to call it . . . Very Muddy Pink?
Caught myself getting afraid a couple of times and talked myself down.
Want to get my new sewing space ready by Saturday as to be ready for a free class @h_a_d_l_e_y is putting on—fabric/collage thing.

Primed walls — not sure if I want to paint. I lined a couple of home projects up.
No in-person work projects are happening now (if you want to schedule a virtual organizing session, schedule a call!). I am optimistic for April 7 2020.

I took a wonderful hike with bountiful wildflowers and lichen. Plus stopped for cookie baking ingredients (oatmeal and chocolate chips).

If I can be 50% productive I will be thrilled (I heard someone else say something to that effect and ❤️).
My closets are torn out (they were sh**y, though that seems such a trivial thing to say) — I need to prime and paint and put the free standing Elfa System together.
Can I do it in a day or two? Maybe.
The trick is to stay in the moment, to the task at hand, and not veer into “news”. It really helps to see how everyone else is coping (so I’ve been posting more actively on IG, while also trying to not get too sucked into social media. Come say hi!). Thank you!
Never know where TCS closet consultations will bring me! What you can’t see is the subdivision behind me. Can only imagine how festive things look at night —almost everyone has front yard covered in decorations (slight exaggeration 😂).
